چکیده

Yttrium-stabilized zirconia thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) of combustion chambers and piston crowns are used most frequently to increase the chamber temperature internal engine efficiency. The development multilayer metal matrix composite coating is great importance diminish ceramic coating’s brittleness susceptibility degradation providing similar insulation. Our group developing TBCs based on intermetallic (Fe-Al) compounds combined with alternating zirconia-based layers made by low-pressure cold spraying (LPCS) sintering. Fe-Al phase was synthesized during reaction sintering stainless steel Al particles in powder layer previously obtained spraying. A double-nozzle cold-spraying gun deposit two (stainless Al-YSZ) per one track. effect breaking brittle ZrO2 due impingement substrate results formation a relatively homogeneous structure particle size 3–10 ?m. Cold-spray deposition additional Cu-Ni-Graphene catalytic developed improve performance emissions engines. microstructure, conductivity, shock behavior microhardness were examined discussed.

Solid Particle Erosion of Thermal Sprayed Coatings

Solid particle erosion is an important material degradation mechanism. Although various methods of coating are tried and used for protection against erosion, thermal sprayed coating for such purpose is the most widely used method. In this chapter, evolution of thermal sprayed coating, erosion testing methods, and erosive wear of thermal sprayed coatings are discussed extensively with emphasis o...

Delamination of multilayer thermal barrier coatings

Multilayer thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on superalloy substrates are comprised of an intermetallic bond coat, a thermally grown oxide (TGO) layer, and a porous zirconia top coat that provides thermal protection. The TGO attains a thickness of 1±10 lm prior to failure, while the bond coat and zirconia layer are each about 50±100 lm thick. The preferred method for manufacturing TBCs comprises ...
